About Us

Who we are

Software Insight Pty. Ltd. is an Australian software company, registered on 1 July 2000. It operates from Level 2, 52 McDougall St, Milton QLD 4064 and supplies business software to small and medium organisations.

The company writes, sells and supports its own software. Development, consulting, training and support are performed by its own staff in Milton. Customer growth has come almost entirely by referral.

The product is InsightSuite: six core modules — financial management, document management, asset management, reporting, workflow automation and a support desk — plus add-ons for mobile approval, a customer portal, backup, scheduling, alerts and an API. All modules read and write one shared database.

How the company operates

  • Software is written, sold and supported by the same staff.
  • Customer data is exportable in standard formats at any time, at no charge.
  • Pricing is written, fixed and explained before work begins.
  • Response targets are published and reported against quarterly.

Two customers have been with the company since 2002.

Who we serve

Customers range from about five to two hundred staff. Industries include freight, community services, property management, wholesale, consulting, engineering and allied health.

The software handles Australian GST and BAS cycles, payroll-ready export formats, financial-year rollover conventions and records-retention expectations.

One office

Software Insight operates a single office in Milton, Queensland.

The company

Software Insight is privately held. It has been profitable every year since 2002 and is organised as one office rather than a headquarters plus branches. Development and support share the same premises.

Features are added when customer organisations need them. The company has not changed ownership, moved offshore, or restructured around a growth target since 2000.

The Milton office: consultants, developers and the support desk share one premises.

Working with a new customer

Each engagement starts with a review of the customer’s operation, followed by a written fixed-price quote, a scheduled implementation with data migration and a parallel run, role-based training, and ongoing support. See why organisations choose us, the company history, or the case studies.

Questions we are often asked

Who owns Software Insight, and could that change?
The company is privately held by the people who work in it, and has been since registration in 2000. There is no outside investor, no venture debt and no sale process running. Continuity matters more to us than an exit: our licence terms, support commitments and roadmap are set by the same small group who sign them. If that ever changed, customers would hear it from us first, in writing, with time to plan.
Which organisations should not buy from you?
Three groups: operations well above two hundred staff with a formal project office; businesses needing 24/7 support; and organisations whose real requirement is one bespoke feature rather than a suite.
How do you decide what gets built next?
The same way we have since 2002: support tickets and workshop conversations first, competitor feature lists last. A request enters the roadmap when it recurs across unrelated customers, survives a week of internal argument, and can be built without complicating anything that already works. Release notes explain what shipped and why — you should never need a demonstration to discover what changed.
Do you subcontract any part of the work?
No. Development, consulting, migration, training and support are all performed by Software Insight staff from Milton. The only third party in the delivery chain is our hosting provider for cloud-hosted clients, engaged under written privacy and security obligations. Everything else — including the code — stays in the building.
