InsightSuite: one suite for the whole operation

InsightSuite is a family of six core modules that share one database and one design. Information entered once is available everywhere: an invoice raised in Insight Ledger appears in an Insight Reports dashboard the same afternoon.

Each module works standalone; together they share one database. All modules are available on-premises or cloud-hosted on Australian servers. Every licence includes the built-in update service, product support and complete data export.

Every module opens on a work list, every list can be filtered and exported to Excel, and the same shortcut keys work in every module.

Choose the edition that fits

InsightSuite is licensed in three editions. Modules marked as add-ons can be added to any edition as licensed extras — the table below shows what each edition includes out of the box.

How the modules fit together

The modules share one database, one security model and one audit trail. An invoice approved in Insight Flow posts to Insight Ledger; a purchased asset is registered in Insight Assets and booked in the ledger; Insight Reports reads all of it live; Insight Docs holds the documents the other modules refer to.

One consequence: a support fix to a posting rule applies to every module, and a backup covers the whole database rather than separate exports.

Typical starting combinations

OrganisationMost common first phase
Service business, sole ledger painInsight Ledger, adding Insight Reports for management
Records-heavy officeInsight Docs first, with Insight Flow for approvals
Equipment or fleet ownerInsight Assets with Insight Ledger connected from day one
Multi-site operationsInsight Ledger + Insight Reports, then Insight Care for internal requests
Full replacement programmeThe three-wave approach described in our case studies

Any module can be activated later and joins the same database; nothing is re-entered.

Integration and data ownership

The Insight API add-on connects the suite to payroll services, bank feeds and websites through a documented REST interface; bespoke integrations are written as fixed-price work. Your data lives in a documented format, exports cover every module, and a complete final export is provided at no charge if you leave. See the case studies and our terms.

Common questions about the suite

Which module do most organisations start with?
Insight Ledger with Insight Reports is the most common first phase: it addresses the month end first and produces visible numbers fastest. Records-heavy offices sometimes begin with Insight Docs, asset-driven businesses with Insight Assets. There is no wrong order technically — every module shares one database — so the right first phase is whichever pain costs your office the most hours this quarter. The quote form recommends one from your answers, and we will say if a different order suits you better.
Can InsightSuite handle multiple sites and consolidation?
Yes. Locations, cost centres and entities are first-class fields across the suite: reports filter by site or consolidate across them, asset registers run per location, and Insight Care queues can be shared or split per office. Consolidation happens at the database level rather than through exports, so a Tuesday figure entered in one office is in the consolidated picture the same afternoon — without a reconciliation ritual.
Do we need the API add-on for payroll and bank integrations?
No. Payroll-ready exports and bank transaction import files are part of Insight Ledger itself. The Insight API add-on is for the cases beyond that: pushing data to a website, pulling from an industry-specific tool, or bespoke links written for you as fixed-price work. Most customers never buy it; those who do usually arrive at it through one specific integration rather than general ambition.
What happens to our reports when we add a module later?
Nothing breaks — new modules simply add data sources. Existing reports keep their definitions, and the new module’s tables become available to the designer and the dashboards the moment the licence is activated. That is the practical payoff of one database: adding Insight Flow does not add an interface, a synchronisation schedule, or a second version of the truth.
