Training

Courses teach each role the tasks it performs, using exercises drawn from the customer’s own data in a training environment.

Courses run at the Milton training room, on-site, or online. Groups are capped at eight. Every participant keeps the course materials and receives a certificate.

How we teach

  • Exercises use a training copy of your own data.
  • Each module is taught through the three tasks that role performs most often.
  • Shortcuts and habits are taught as part of the course.
  • Courses end with a session where staff bring their real work.
  • Instructors are the consultants who configured your system.

Booking and scheduling

Training is included as line items in implementation quotes; existing customers can book at any time. Public dates for popular courses are scheduled each quarter at Milton. On-site and online sessions are arranged around your calendar, including split sessions.

For steady staff turnover, the User Basics course can run as a private quarterly session. Refresher sessions after each major release are included at no charge for the first year of any licence.

A course day

  1. 1
    09:00 — the three tasks

The role’s three most frequent tasks, taught end to end on your data.

  2. 2
    11:00 — the habits

Shortcuts, list filters, export patterns and preferences.

  3. 3
    13:30 — the exceptions

The reversal, the disputed invoice, the mid-year restructure, handled once.

  4. 4
15:00 — bring your real work

The last session uses Monday’s actual tasks in the training copy.

Records, certification and materials

Every participant receives a certificate of completion and keeps the course materials. Exercise files are the customer’s own training copy, so a rehearsal environment remains after the course.

Training records are kept with your licence: which courses ran, who attended, and when.

Courses stay at eight or fewer and are never mixed between customer organisations.

Practical questions about training

Are there prerequisites for any course?
Only familiarity with the work itself: a finance role for finance courses, records duties for records courses. We teach the software through the tasks your people already perform, so the relevant experience is the prerequisite, not computer skills. Every course runs on a training copy of your own system, so the first screen a participant sees is recognisably theirs — which does more for confidence in the first ten minutes than any slide deck.
Do certificates expire?
No — certification records competency at a version, not a licence to operate. After major releases we recommend the two-hour refresher, included free for the first licence year, and your training records with us show who attended what and when — usually the evidence auditors and funders actually want. Certification exists to make training verifiable, not to create a renewal revenue line.
